Maryland SPCA

Celebrating 150 years in Baltimore, the Maryland SPCA set its sights on the future and what the next 150 years may bring. In response to the ever-changing nature of animal welfare, several phased improvements will be made to the 3300 Falls Road campus. The first step undertaken was a $1.2 million redevelopment of the organization’s main administrative office building. This addressed structural failures and the space needed to support office personnel, organizational operations, and behavioral training, among other requirements. Merritt Construction Services focused on making the office ADA accessible by widening the doorways to accommodate wheelchairs, adding ramps, installing new parking and expanding the original 7,450 SF three-story building by 2,205. The expansion space features 10 additional offices, a kitchen, two bathrooms, a lactation room and extra storage capacity.
